1. What is "Identity"?
    Identity - It is a percentage of identical amino acids or nucleotides in the alignment of two sequences. Usually the identity is measured on the aligned residues with gaps ignored.


2. What is "Illumina"?

    Illumina - It is a company located in San Diego, CA that provides sequencing platforms such as MiSeq, HiSeq, HiSeq2500, NextSeq and GA II.

3. What is "In silico experimental process"?

    In silico experimental process - It is a process which is performed on a computer and not by bench research.

4. What is "Indels"?

    Indels - It is a collective noun that refers to insertions or deletions of bases in DNA sequences.

5. What is "Induced"?

    Induced a gene with increased transcription

6. What is "Intergenic sequence"?

    Intergenic sequence - It is a DNA sequence between two genes, sometime referred to as ‘junk DNA’.






7. What is "Internet"?

    Internet - It is a global collective of computer networks running TCP/IP.

8. What is "InterPro"?

    InterPro - It is a federative database of profiles, patterns and HMMs for detecting protein domains.

9. What is "Intron"?

    Intron - It is a portion of the gene and initial RNA transcript that will be excised and not included in the mRNA; usually begins with the sequence GT and ends with AG.

10. What is "Ion Proton II sequencing"?

    Ion Proton II sequencing - It is a platform available through Gibco Life Technologies, generates 60 Gb sequence per run, with paired read lengths of 150 bp.
